Comparison of interception loss by different rainfall magnitudes within a secondary forest of Popa Mountain Park, Myanmar

Abstract Partitioning of gross rainfall into throughfall, stemflow and interception loss are essential parameters for the water balance region. Measurements rainfall, throughfall were made during growing season (from June to October) 2019. The objectives this study know contributions by secondary forest in assessing Popa catchment area investigate interceptive under different magnitudes. A total 753.58 mm was measured open area. Of 442.30 (58.69%) 142.44 (18.90%) reached floor as stemflow. Three groups divided magnitude individual events. does not appear be a major driving factor three groups: (1) Pg <10 (p=0.848); (2) 10< <50 (p=0.060); (3) >50 (p=0.051). This shows that can contribute high partitioning Silvicultural management conservation activities these forests should improved order have more hydrologic services from them.
